We Are Tired: Africans Deserve Fair Visa Treatment from Western Governments

Visas for Africans

Every year, millions of Africans apply for visas to travel for business, education, tourism, or family reasons. But instead of fair treatment, we face strict requirements, high rejection rates, and a system built on mistrust.

We write this not with anger, but with honesty: We are tired.

Tired of being treated as unwanted guests in a world that preaches equality. Tired of the double standards. Tired of the idea that friendship only applies when it’s convenient.

1. Western Governments Say One Thing, But Do Another

Western leaders often claim they are supporting Africa through aid, development loans, humanitarian projects, and partnerships. They speak of solidarity, shared goals, and global cooperation.

But when an African applies for a visa, the message changes completely.

We are treated with suspicion. Required to prove our worth. Often rejected without clear reasons.

How can you call us friends — but deny us entry?

2. The Visa Process Is Unfair and Inhumane

  • Endless paperwork

  • High visa fees

  • Long processing times

  • Interviews that feel more like interrogations

  • And the fear of rejection — even with all documents in place

This is not just inconvenient. It is humiliating. It is emotionally exhausting.

For many of us, it feels like we are being punished just for being African.

3. “Border Protection” Should Not Mean Discrimination

We understand every country has the right to protect its borders. But when entire populations are treated as risks, not individuals, that becomes discrimination.

You cannot claim to support Africa while closing your doors to its people.
You cannot preach global unity while building invisible walls.

True security must also include humanity.

4. Africans Travel to Connect — Not Escape

Let’s break the stereotype. The majority of African travelers return home. We travel to study, do business, attend conferences, or simply enjoy life.

We do not want to “sneak” into your countries. We want to experience the world — like everyone else — and come back with knowledge, skills, and memories.

Don’t judge us by the exceptions. Judge us fairly.

5. Friendship Requires Respect and Reciprocity

Imagine this: Your so-called friend tells you they support you, care about your growth, and believe in equal opportunity.
But when you ask to visit — they shut the door in your face.

Is that real friendship?

Western countries want access to African markets, land, talent, and cooperation. But they refuse us basic mobility.
This is not mutual respect — it’s a one-sided relationship.

Conclusion: Africans Deserve Better

We are not asking for charity. We are not begging for favors.

We are simply demanding a visa process that is fair, respectful, and dignified.

If Western governments truly value their relationship with Africa, then prove it — not with more aid, but with equal treatment.

Let your actions match your words.

Because real friends don’t shut their doors, real partners build bridges — not barriers.
